Mortgage Report
This week we are seeing the mortgage staying consistent. Though the rate has continued to decrease, and buyers have been re-entering the market, the surplus of buyers is now affecting the prices of homes. The scarcity is now causing prices of homes to increase again. This is a disadvantage to some buyers, since the higher the prices of homes increase, the less able they become to afford homes. Those who can still afford these prices, may look into government assistance to aid with their closing costs.
Trivia
Who was UF Health Shands originally named after?
The UF teaching hospital was started in 1958, 2 yrs after the colleges of Medicine and Nursing were started. The teaching hospital was agreed to be placed in a large city, however Florida State Senator William Shands after much effort, was able to get the approval of the teaching hospital to be located in Gainesville. Now the UF Health Shands includes 7 hospitals which are: Cancer Hospital, Children’s Hospital, Heart & Vascular Hospital, Neuromedicine Hospital, Rehab Hospital, Psychiatric Hospital and UF Shands Hospital. With over 3 million inpatient and outpatient visits each year including serving patients from all over Florida and over 30 countries all managed by the UF Health Shands network of hospitals and physicians, the hospital was named the 2nd best hospital in the state by the US News & World Report. UF Health Shands continues to grow as the vision is vast.
